Other Volunteer Roles
We always need and welcome volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, visit our Contact Us page for more information.

Phone Volunteers

You answer the EAPL main phone number for a day from the comfort of your own home. We connect the phone into your home line. You decide which day of the month you would like to answer. You can select a different day each month. The commitment is from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. We ask that you arrange your schedule to stay home on the day you have chosen.

Cat Room Volunteers

The EAPL cat room at Chow Down requires several volunteers a day to provide food, cleanliness, and affection for the cats and kittens waiting for homes. If you have a few hours every week or once a month, consider this volunteer service.

Education

Each year, education programs are presented by the EAPL to mountain area elementary schools. In 1997 we went into 139 classrooms in 17 schools in the mountain area, and we spoke to 2,278 children about responsible pet care & how to avoid dog bites. From the fall 1998 school term to the winter 2000 term, we presented a program titled "How To Live With the Wildlife In your Backyard". This program was presented over a 2 year period. We invited 5 schools to participate each semester, covering a total of 20 schools. This is an elementary school program, and we need volunteers on a continuing basis to help with the program.

Photos With Santa

This fund raiser takes place in early November at the Evergreen Lakehouse. Santas are needed for both Saturday and Sunday. Volunteers are needed to sell various items, reigster people, and collect donations.

Pet Taxi

Volunteer to help us transport our furry friends to appointments and foster homes. Your name will be added to a call list so you can be contacted in the event that we need help with transporting an animal.
